The annual project meeting for proHorizon Europe eco2adapt, hosted this year by UNITBV
2-5 July 2024
This year’s meeting of the project eco2adapt - Ecosystem-based adaptation and changemaking to shape, protect and maintain the resilience of tomorrow’s forests – funded by the European Union, which aims to strengthen cooperation with research institutions of China, with a view to adapting forests to climate change, will take place between 2 and 5 July.
Transilvania University of Brașov is a partner in the project and participates with a team of five professors and a doctoral student. The meeting in the city of Brașov will be attended by 60 experts in the field of forestry, ecology and climatology, on behalf of 31 organizations in Europe and China.
The project aims to identify solutions for the management of forests all over Europe and China, with a view to increasing their resilience in the context of climate change. Forest adaptation models will be developed at the regional level, and the way forest administrators take into account disrupters (storms, droughts), vulnerabilities and socioeconomic aspects in the decision-making process will be investigated.
The project Horizon Europe eco2adapt is conducted in the period 2022-2027.
