ACUM 2026 International Colloquium of Social Sciences and Communication
4 - 7 November 2026, “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre, Transilvania University of Brașov
The Faculty of Sociology and Communication within Transilvania University of Brașov, in partnership with the Romanian Sociologists’ Society hereby launches the invitation to the proceedings of ACUM 2026 International Colloquium of Social Sciences and Communication, which will be hosted in “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre, Transilvania University of Brașov, between 4 and 7 November 2026.
Within an interdisciplinary framework for reflection and debate on society’s contemporary challenges and opportunities, ACUM conference proposes, this year as well, a decisive theme, namely Societal Dynamics and Digital Changes: Navigating through Communication, Technology and Society in the 21st Century.
The current edition’s thematic sections, panels and workshops cover a wide range of topics relevant to today’s societal dynamics and the subsequent changes, such as: Digital Transition; Artificial Intelligence and Society; Media, Democracy and Public Communication; Social Inequity and Changes, Organizational Resilience and Leadership; Human Resource Management and Evolving Landscape of Labour; Migration, Integration and Multiculturalism; Social Work, Community Wellbeing and Resilience; Environmental Sustainability, Active Citizenship, and Economic Alternatives; Anthropology of Contemporary Societies and Civic Engagement; Culture, Identity and Collective Memory, Political Communication, Populism and Disinformation; Digital Literacy and Inequity; Institutional Trust and Democratic Renewal.
The scientific articles accepted for the ACUM 2026 Conference will be published in the Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Braşov. Series VII: Social Sciences • Law, which is an EBSCO-indexed scientific journal accessible via this link: http://webbut.unitbv.ro/index.php/Series_VII
