The UNITBV digital student card has been launched

The digital student card attests to the UNITBV student status, is available to all UNITBV students, and is valid for the current academic year. When enrolling in the following academic year, the digital student card is automatically renewed. If the student loses his/her status as a student (disenrollment, graduation, interruption of studies), the digital card is automatically revoked. By scanning the validation QR code, any institution or person can access the digital student card data and correctly identify a student’s membership in UNITBV.
The digital student card contains the following information:
- the student’s profile photo;
- the student’s name and surname;
- institutional email address;
- faculty;
- study programme;
- study cycle;
- study year;
- group and enrollment number;
- period of validity;
- the validation QR code and a timer that indicates the validity of the displayed QR code.
GENERATION OF THE DIGITAL STUDENT CARD
In order to generate the digital student card, a student needs to know the access data for the Intranet https://intranet.unitbv.ro, which means the institutional email and password, and to install the Student@UNITBV application on a mobile device. The users who work with the Android operating system must update the application.
The student enters the Intranet with the institutional email and accesses the Faculty/Photo documents menu. The profile photo is manually uploaded by the student, in jpg format.
The access to the digital student card is done through the Student@UNITBV> application, by pressing the button with the “card” type icon on the on the main page of the application.
Each validation QR code applies for 5 minutes. After the validity period expires, a new code must be generated. Both the QR code and the photo can be resized (enlarged) by pressing them for better viewing.
CARD VERIFICATION
By scanning the validation code with the phone camera or with any application that scans QR codes, the person scanning the code will be redirected to a public page on the Intranet where the student's data are displayed:
- the student’s profile photo;
- the academic year;
- the student’s name and surname;
- faculty;
- study cycle;
- form of education;
- study programme;
- study year
Students and employees of the university can use the Student@UNITBV mobile application for scanning, by choosing the “Scan digital student card” option from the menu.
If an attempt is made to scan a code saved through a screenshot, the student’s data will not be displayed and an error message will appear. (“Invalid card” - on the Intranet page, respectively “The scanned code has expired or is invalid” - in the application).
