Paul Ionescu, Grand Prize at Festival 4 Arts international competition
The pianist Paul Ionescu, a first-year student at the Faculty of Music within Transilvania University of Brașov, obtained, with a maximum score (100 points), the Trophy and the Grand Prize at Festival 4 Arts international online piano and violin performance competition. His performance is all the more remarkable, as over 140 competitors from Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Portugal, Mongolia, Italy, the Republic of Moldova, etc. entered the competition. The competition took place in early April.
Paul Ionescu is studying piano in the class of Prof. Dr. Corina Ibănescu, where he was admitted with an average grade of 10, as a result of the examination tests, and he has no less than 25 awards obtained so far at national and international competitions. Moreover, Paul has given numerous concerts as a soloist, in the company of the Philharmonic Orchestras of Bacău, Botoșani, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Ploiești, Chișinău, but also in Italy at Lucca, Pisa, Castelnuovo del Garfagnana, as well as in Switzerland, at Amthaus Ruti (Grosser Saal), Rapperswill-Jona, within the festival Musiksommer am Zurichsee, and at Berne and Zűrich, with NZO Orchestra (Neue Zuricher Orchester).
