40 years since a Romanian cosmonaut’s first flight in outer space

On Monday, 17 May 2021, from 11 am, “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Aula of Transilvania University of Brașov will host the 40th anniversary of a Romanian astronaut’s first flight in outer space. Between 14 and 21 May 1981, Dumitru Prunariu spent 7 days, 20 hours and 42 minutes in space, within Soyuz 40 mission of the space programme “Intercosmos”, being the first Romanian cosmonaut to reach space.
