A UNITBV student - double gold medalist at the World Karate Championship of Mexico
Crina-Georgiana LEURZEANU, third-year student at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, is a double medalist at the WUKF World Karate Championship held in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. Crina proved not only academic dedication and perseverance, but also an extraordinary sports discipline, by winning two gold medals. Thus, she ranked first both in kata - individual other styles 18-20 age category and in kumite - teams shobu sanbon 18-20 age category.
Crina has been training since the age of five with her father, and the results did not take long to appear. The young woman’s portfolio is impressive, built through sustained work and perseverance. Her past achievements include podium finishes at numerous national and international competitions, such as the National Championship of Brașov in May 2024 (3rd place in individual kumite), the European Championship of Antibes, France (November 2023), where she won the 1st place in kata, but also the 2nd and 3rd places in team kumite, as well as the gold medals at the World Championships of Dundee, Scotland (July 2023) and the European Championships of Florence (November 2022).
Now, we look forward with enthusiasm to her participation in the Romanian Cup, on 14 and 15 September (Sports Hall, Brașov), and we wish her the best of luck in qualifying for the European Championship in October!
