UPDATE: The project contest results are available HERE.

UNITBV launches a project idea contest for students, themed on creating a “disability friendly” campus, within the project CNFIS-FDI-2024-F-0397 – “From access to success. Creating an accessible and inclusive academic environment for the students with disabilities”, which is aimed at creating the institutional and educational setting for a high-quality inclusive and equitable education for the students with disabilities within Transilvania University of Brașov (both current and prospective students).

This contest aims at challenging students to identify creative, original and feasible solutions in order to foster an educational environment that facilitates the access to education for all students, regardless of their learning needs.

The project idea only involves the development of a project proposal, not also its implementation.

General objectives pursued through the project ideas:

  • enhanced participation of the students with disabilities in the educational process offered by the university;
  • greater educational and social inclusion for the students with disabilities;
  • support for the students with disabilities, with a view to reducing academic dropout;
  • development of the relevant skills in the teaching personnel and experts involved in conducting activities with disabled students;
  • higher community awareness on the importance of the educational and social inclusion of the people with disabilities

Participants:

The proposals will be made by student teams of up to 5 participants. Interdisciplinary teams and teams including at least one disabled student are encouraged, as diverse perspectives and experiences can guide amendments towards increased physical and educational accessibility, easier communication, as well as better support services.
