Between 25 and 29 March 2025, the fourth edition of the Romanian film festival CinemaUniT will take place under the organization of Cinemaraton TV in partnership with Transilvania University of Brașov.
During five days, Romanian heritage films, but also recent films, awarded at international festivals will be available to watch at Astra movie theatre. Within the festival, the students of Transilvania University of Braşov are welcome at the Multicultural Centre to participate in masterclasses held by Prof. Dana Duma, PhD, film critic, and Prof. Laurențiu Damian, PhD, director/ president of UCIN, respectively by the director Bogdan Mureșanu (The New Year That Never Came, 2024), starting from topics such as screenwriting, music and film production.
Last year’s three great premières, awarded at the most important international film festivals (Berlin, Cannes and Venice) will be screened and presented within the festival: The Holy Week (by Andrei Cohn), Three Kilometres to the End of the World (by Emanuel Pârvu) and The New Year That Never Came (by Bogdan Mureșanu).
As in previous editions, the screenings will be followed by debates moderated by actors, directors, critics and film producers, significant names of the Romanian cinematography, such as Dan Burlac, Emanuel Pârvu, Manuela Cernat, Tamara Crețulescu, Ileana Popovici, Tora Vasilescu, Bogdan Mureșanu, Victor Rebengiuc, Andrei Cohn, Cristi Puiu, and many more.
