Games of Science 2025

27 and 28 March 2025, Research and Development Institute, Transilvania University of Brașov, room L 5

The fourth edition of Games of Science, the best-known Romanian project for the popularization of science, reaches Brașov on 27 and 28 March. In partnership with Transilvania University of Brașov, Games of Science invites the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, as well as young research scientists of Brașov to attend an eight-hour training on 27 March, then waits for them to compete on 28 March, in order to present their research in a concise and engaging way on 15, 30, 60 or 180-second time scales.

Why participate in Games of Science?

Games of Science is more than a training or a contest. It is a community for young research scientists, which enables them to develop their communication and collaborative skills, to learn in groups and from peers, and which offers them the right context for practicing public communication on scientific topics.

The winners of the local editions receive prizes in books and objects, and qualify for the national finals, the grand prize of which includes the participation in an international science-communication workshop worth 2000 euros.

Who can sign up?

Games of Science is open to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, as well as young research scientists in all fields, advisably within the age group from 20 to 35 years, who want to get involved in promoting science to the large public. No previous experience is required, and lack of experience is not an impediment to attending it, as the training sessions provide valuable opportunities for the participants to learn from each other.

This edition is organised in our city in partnership with Transilvania University of Brașov, but the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from all higher-education and research institutions in the area, as well as the ones who can come to Brașov on these days are welcome to participate. The project organizers provide the training and board during the event, but do not cover transportation or lodging expenses.
