The project “InfoTRON - Your Step into the World of Mechatronics” has announced its winners

On 11 May 2026, “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre hosted the closing and awards ceremony for the fifth edition of the project Informatics, Your Step into the World of Mechatronics - InfoTRON. 

For two months, the 337 pupils of four participating National Colleges (Grigore Moisil, Dr. Ioan Meșotă, Unirea and Andrei Mureșanu) have had the opportunity to learn beyond textbooks, by working alongside 32 student trainers coordinated by two professors at the Faculty of Product Design and Environment, and discovering how informatics comes to life in real mechatronic systems.

Whether it is about the first experiences with LEGO Education, or about projects developed on such platforms as Arduino or ESP32, each stage was a step forward towards logical thinking, creativity, teamwork and, above all, confidence in one’s own ideas.

We express our gratitude to everyone who got involved: the pupils and teachers of the aforementioned colleges, the student trainers of the Faculties of Product Design and Environment, respectively Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; the two industrial partners, namely Miele Brașov and Siemens Industry Software; Brașov County School Inspectorate; as well as the strategic partners for local development. The dedication, support and energy invested in this endeavour have enormously contributed to the success of this anniversary edition.

Launched in the year 2019, within the programme “Strategic Partnership for Education 5.0”, this project brings together active partners in pre-university, academic, economic and social environments, and thus proves that the future of education only builds up through collaboration.

InfoTRON promotes MECHATRONICS (MECHAnics + elecTRONics + INFOrmatics) among the 5th-11th graders through courses and competitions, with a view to applying informatics in the conception, design, development and implementation of mechatronic systems which emphasise the combination of technical and behavioural skills that are required in the future (teamwork, creativity, innovation, and more).
