Transilvania University of Brașov - for the first time in the prestigious international ranking Times Higher Education - World University Rankings 2021

Transilvania University of Brașov was included for the first time in the prestigious international ranking Times Higher Education - World University Rankings 2021, published today. It has been included in the ranking on position 1001+along with 10 other Romanian universities and occupies the third place out of the 13 universities in our country that have been included in this international ranking.

Times Higher Education - World University Rankings 2021 includes the top 1527 universities from over 20,000 higher education institutions globally. This ranking is based on 13 performance indicators targeting teaching activity, scientific performance, research impact (citations), international visibility and knowledge transfer to industry/ society.

The rector of Transilvania University of Brașov, Prof. Dr. Eng. IoanVasileAbrudan, said: “We are very happy with this performance, which a few years ago seemed an almost impossible goal to achieve. In fact, lately, our university has been the Romanian university with the highest increase in visibility from the perspective of international rankings. The merit belongs to the entire university community of Brașov, and our efforts to increase teaching and research performance will intensify in the coming years.”

During the last year, Transilvania University of Brașov has registered the highest promotion of a Romanian university in the international ranking Center for World University Rankings - CWUR as well as in the international QS ranking of universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia. It was also included for the first time in the prestigious Shanghai international ranking by fields and in the international ranking Times Higher Education - Impact Rankings (third place in the top universities in Romania).
