Oana Dinea is a pianist of Romanian origin settled in Switzerland. She began to study the piano at the age of 7, in Cluj. In 2007, after completing her studies, she left for Geneva, where she graduated from two master's degree programmes (Pedagogy and Music Performance), both of them at Haute École de Musique de Genève, under Dominique Weber’s guidance.
Oana attended the masterclasses of important artists, such as Leon Fleisher, Julian Martin, Robert McDonald, Jose Ramon Mendez, Bruno Rigutto, Krystof Jablonsky. In 2010, she gave a piano recital in Chopin’s birthplace in Poland. At the present time, she creates her own independent concerts, often in collaboration with other artists, motivated by the desire to set up an unconventional space for the encounter with classical music. In parallel, she teaches piano classes at Conservatoire populaire de la musique, de la danse et du théâtre, in Geneva, Switzerland.
In 2020, she created the association Espaces non-conventionnels dédiés à la musique classique et à la rencontre humaine together with the social psychologist Cecilia Miranda. By this means, the two organize concerts and events where classical music and social interaction complement and support each other.
Last year, Oana Dinea recorded her first album (People) in one of the most famous halls in Switzerland, that of Romand Popular Theatre in Chaux-de-Fonds. Inspired by the collaboration with the Swiss photographer Claude Dussez, Oana created an original album that combines music with text and photography. After the release in Geneva and a concert in Cluj, Oana Dinea continues her promotional tour with the recital that will take place at the Multicultural Centre on Tuesday, 22 February.
The entrance is free.
