Opening of the 2024-2025 Concert Season

On 9 October, the Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov will mark the official opening of the 2024-2025 Concert Season, a significant event that celebrates the 10th edition since its establishment. This decade of musical activity brings to the fore the Centre’s consequential role in the cultural life of Brașov, which has turned into an essential point of reference in the Romanian artistic landscape. On this occasion, we will offer the audience a series of captivating concerts, designed to highlight the Centre’s vision and cultural impact.
The Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov aims to promote artistic excellence by actively contributing to the cultural development of our academic community and beyond. Our vision is to create a vibrant space for revelling in excellent-quality music, and our mission is to provide the highest-level musical experiences. This year’s concert season marks a new stage in our evolution, as we want every music lover to experience, together with us, new outstanding artistic moments, which reflect our commitment to music culture and education.
The inaugural recital on the evening of 9 October 2024 will be performed by the pianist Mihai Diaconescu, an internationally renowned artist, who began to study the piano at the age of four. Mihai attended "Gheorghe Dima" Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca and continued his studies at “Sibelius” Academy of Helsinki, where he was conferred upon the master’s degree. Along his career, he has collaborated with important personalities and participated in international festivals, giving concerts in Romania and on prestigious stages all over the world, including Gasteig in Munich and Sala Argenta in El Palacio de Festivales de Santander. The concert programme will include valuable music pieces of the universal music repertoire.
The event will take place on 9 October 2024, starting at 6:00 p.m., in “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov. The entrance is free within the limit of available places.
