Concert Season of UNITBV: Vocal – Instrumental Recital

25 April 2025, at 6:00 p.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre, Transilvania University of Brașov

The musical Romanticism’s universe of sound will open with intensity and refinement on the evening of 25 April 2025, at 6:00 p.m., through an exceptional vocal-instrumental recital, which will bring together the soprano Cristina Radu, the tenor Liviu Iftene and the pianist Szőcs Botond. The event proposes an artistic foray into the expressive sensitivity of two of the most influential creative spirits in the 19th and 20th centuries, namely Franz Schubert and Sergei Rachmaninov.

With a thoroughly conceived programme, aimed at highlighting the poetic and dramatic nuances of the lied and vocal miniature, the recital explores the lyrical tension between interiorization and theatricality, between reverie and destiny, between the fragile humanity and the transcendent sublime.

Cristina Radu, the soprano with a career marked by vocal versatility and expressiveness, completes the soundscape with warm lyricism, elegant phrasing and outstanding stage genuineness.

Liviu Iftene, the tenor acknowledged for his bright timbre and for the depth of his performance, brings on the stage a powerful and sensitive artistic presence that succeeds in rendering with intensity the entire emotional range of the chosen repertoire.

Szőcs Botond, the pianist with a subtle understanding of all genres and styles, and an impressive artistic presence, supports the entire musical journey with an interpretative intelligence that emphasises in an inspired way the complexity of the two great romantic composers’ accompaniments.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exceptional event, a celebration of the romantic lyricism and of the communion between voice and piano, on 25 April, at 6:00 p.m., in the Aula Magna of “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre within Transilvania University of Brașov.

The concert will be available to watch live on the web page of Transilvania University of Brașov, https://www.unitbv.ro
