  • THE CAPTURE : Photography. Installation. Movie – Adi Voicu and A.I. Bumbac

THE CAPTURE : Photography. Installation. Movie – Adi Voicu and A.I. Bumbac

Opening: 5 May 2025, at 6:00 p.m., Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov

The Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov invites you to a new complex event that involves movie screening, namely the director Adi Voicu’s debut in fiction feature film, exhibition, through the photojournalist A.I. Bumbac’s visual installation, but also reflections.

Inspired by a real occurrence, the two creators’ artistic approach proposes, through a double transference process, the former - of the recontextualised reality into fiction, and then the latter - the other way round, of the fiction into a broader and deeper reality, a model of restoration and implicitly growth.

A.I. Bumbac is a photojournalist for national and international agencies, and a member in Romania’s Association of Professional Journalists. He has contributed to international publications such as International Herald Tribune, Paris Match, Der Spiegel, Der Stern, The Sun, Le Monde and National Geographic. He has received awards such as the gold medal – under the press report section at the International Photography Salon of Bucharest, and the first prize – under the photo section, awarded by the Romanian Press Club.

Adi Voicu is a film director and a member of the Romanian Filmmakers Association. He teaches at the National University of Arts in Bucharest. He has made several documentary and fiction films that enjoyed international acclaim, both in prestigious festivals and broadcast on international platforms. The Capture (2023) was awarded at Sofia International Film Festival; and in November 2024 it was released in cinemas.

We will therefore be waiting for you at the Multicultural Centre (ground floor of the UNITBV Rectorate building, no. 29 Eroilor Ave.), in order to visit the exhibition, which is open to the public which is open to the public until 15 May 2025, from Monday to Friday, between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and to watch the movie The Capture, which will be screened every day from 4:00 p.m. and, respectively, from 6:00 p.m.
