Transilvania University of Brașov is the Romanian higher-education institution marking the greatest leap in the prestigious CWUR international ranking (2025 edition), on the rise by 125 places compared to last year.

The 2025 edition of Center for World University Ranking (CWUR) includes 21,462 universities all over the world. UNITBV ranks 1,372^nd, up 125 places compared to last year. This ranking includes eight Romanian universities, and UNITBV has moved up another place compared to the previous year in the top of the Romanian universities, with only “Babeș Bolyai” University of Cluj Napoca, “Politehnica” University of Bucharest, “Carol Davila”University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the University of Bucharest ahead.

CWUR 2025, released today, considers four performance indicators – the quality of education, the alumni’s prestige, the personnel’s academic achievement  and the value of the research results.

The CWUR top is led by three universities of the United States of America, namely Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford, followed by two other universities of the United Kingdom, namely Cambridge and Oxford.
