Transilvania University of Brașov ranks 5th among the Romanian universities featuring in Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR 2026). It is the third year running for our higher-education institution to mark a Romanian university’s highest climb in this prestigious international top, to wit, no less than 56 positions, thus reaching the 1316th place.
The 2026 edition of Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR) features 21,291 universities all over the world, with only eight Romanian ones to be included therein; among the latter UNITBV maintains its 5th place, only preceded by “Babeș Bolyai” University of Cluj Napoca, “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy -Bucharest, “Politehnica” University of Bucharest and the University of Bucharest.
CWUR 2026, released today, considers four performance indicators – quality of education, the alumni’s professional success (employability), the academic personnel’s acknowledgment (top distinctions) and the research output.
Just as last year, CWUR is led by three universities of the United States of America, that is, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford, followed by two other universities of United Kingdom, namely Cambridge and Oxford.
